Hi, welcome to MUT, I'm Jennifer from Indiana! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

What kind of foundation are you using? Maybe you need to find a foundation with more coverage and/or a longer lasting foundation? A good loose powder can also help set your foundation, making it last longer. A foundation primer can also help. And if you have oily skin, I've discovered that oil blotting sheets can do wonders to get rid of oil and shine without messing up your makeup -- because if I let too much oil build up, the foundation starts to wear away and you can start seeing the red blotches that are always are on my nose!

Tell us what kind of skin you have (dry, combo, oily, etc) and maybe someone can recommend something more specific for you! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Hi, welcome to MuT! :icon_chee

This could be from repeated touching of the face, like with a tissue to the nose, or with a mismatched foundation to your skin type. If you have very oily skin and are wearing a foundation made for normal, combination or dry skin, you'll probably find your foundation wearing out quicker than need be. Try using a mattifying foundation made for oily skin.

Also regarding oily skin: When skin is very oily, even the best products won't keep a fresh look all day. It's definitely recommended to do regular maintenance throughout the day to keep your makeup fresh (and on), such as blotting (waves to girl-geek!) and touching up with powder afterwards. I prefer using a brush w/ pressed powder instead of a puff because it doesn't apply as much and it helps prevent end of day, powder-caused cakiness. On the oiliest areas, such as the nose and chin, foundation breakdown is bound to happen. If these areas are also ones that needs good coverage, try keeping a little sample-sized bottle of foundation in your purse and touch-up with it when needed. I find that Lancome's sample bottles to be tiny and perfect! And free. :icon_smil

Ya know, I re-read your post and I'm wondering if you're not asking about your SKIN becoming blotchy itself and not having anything to do with your foundation wearing out. If this is so, then your skin is reacting to something in the environment. If you have other sensitive symptoms, like itchy eyes, stuffy/runny nose or flakey skin around your eyes that won't heal with normal creams, this might be an allergy. Or if you are blotchy without any other symptom, possibly this is a dermatitis caused by one of your skin care or makeup products. Sometimes skin can become reactive to products that have been used for a long time with no problem.

Is it blotchy like...red and sort of itchy or inflamed looking? In which case, it's probably allergy related...

Or is it mottled, like...it's under your skin discoloration? Are you more likely to see it when you get cold, as well? In which case, this is vascular and common to see with people who have thin pale skin. Usually light therapy is used to treat the vascular dilation, relieving the mottled effect.

And lastly, is your skin blotchy or is your foundation looking blotchy? In other words, could it be your foundation is pooling at the end of the day, and looking muddy, due to uneven skin texture or excess oil? In which case, I'd just switch foundations or use a mattifying solution beforehand, as already suggested.
