Im new to this but so glad i found it!!

I have natural darkest brown hair ( almost black) and very fine... Story goes as follows...

icon_cry.gif

MAY 2011 - dyed my hair over a few weeks to become white blonde and kept it this way for few months (by a hairdresser)

SEPTEMBER 2011 - my hair was ruined, thinner, snapped, stretchy, and went so so so short!! so wanted to go back to brown.. hair dresser put some sort of red stuff in my hiar first.. washed that out then dyed it brown. but hair as left dead and so short.. hated it :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

from JAN 2012 till now i have accasionally put a home dye through it (browns and now recently a red i.e clairol, nice and easy, garnier ..).

Got a weave done 3 days ago.. dyed my hair and the extensions all a brown colour. (nice and easy) but my extensions have turned out black.. and my own hair still very red brown.

I want all the hair mine and extensions to be a lightish brown.. but im terrified of it getting so damaged again as it has took a good year to get it growing almost an inch or two!!

My friends auntie is a top hair dresser and says i should bleach it once.. then apply a ion number 3 dye. and others are telling me dont bleach or stip it! Personally my thoughts are..i think number 3 is darker than what i want. and if i bleach it again will it not just completely ruin my hair!

please please please someone give me the best advice! i duno what to do and its depressing me that i spent 260 on a weave so i could have more confidence and love my hair.. but now it aint even all the same pretty colour!!!!! :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /:mad: :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I am not sure about this but I have moved your thread to the hair care forum where you are more likely to get a good answer.

Sounds like your hair was damaged and stripped to begin with. Bleaching, extensions, all that is just adding to it. See a professional, but start deep conditioning it on a regular. Maybe try dying the weave again?

Start doing some deep conditioning treatments to rebuild the protien in your hair. Also your hair may become very porus, which means you wont be able to hold color long and your ends will break.

Take baby steps, get your hair healthy first!

It sounds like the weave and your natural hair are taking to the dye differently. You may need to dye them separately. This may be best to have done professionally. When booking at a salon, talk to them about your concerns and they will probably suggest their best color expert to work on your hair, to ensure you are satisfied.
