I bleach my brows because I'm hawaiian && Hispanic (dark natural hair), but my hair color is a ash blonde w/ heavy blonde highlights thru out. I woudln't use hair dye/bleach. I usually use Sally Hensons (SP) facial hair blech. I've never gotten lite tips that are noticable? Even if I do go a long time between bleaching. My brows just end up looking dark again the lighter parts dont really show up. I usually bleach every two weeks, it's about a 10 min process so it's really not that bad to keep up with.
Tips
- Use a good amount of creme, you shouldn't be able to see the hair at all.
-Make sure you sort of rub it in to get in between the hairs and down to the roots.
-Try to keep it off the skin around the brows or you'll end up with whiter skin where the bleach was.
- Keep checking the process of lightening by wiping off creme on a section of brows. Be sure to cover the hair back up with creme if it's not done yet.
-Once brows start to lighten really pay attention. Because you may have the creme on for 5 mins and nothing but once the process starts you could be platnium blonde in 8 seconds.
Adding to the post above, a bit of vaseline around the eyebrows (where you don't want to colour) will form a barrier against the bleach. That's what I do when tinting eyelashes & brows.
I've never bleached them though, we were always told at college not to do it - I'd be worried they'd just end up ginger!!
I think eyebrows ain't something i'd want to cock up so maybe have them done proffesionally and grill them with questions get all tips and tricks and observe there ways.
I wouldn't want to end up with tiger stripes of blonde and ginger or something.
Basically i don't want to stick out like a sore thumb hah
I did it when I bleached out my hair. Several times. Also, the use of powder or other brow shaping products can help disguise it when it grows out... it's not as noticeable as one would think.
I did it when I had lighter dyed hair. If you dye your hair a lighter color, you def cant have black brows. IT looks really harsh, anyway I used the Jolens creme bleach, and wiped it after a few minutes. IT looks really good in the summer with tanned skin. Good luck!
Just today i read in July Glamour in "beauty Tips from Mrs McDreamy" that she uses Jolen Bleach cream to match women's eyebrow with their hair. She says to leave it on just for 5 minutes. I never tried it but maybe i will when I come back to blond color.
