I am the same way I have tons all the time I am very active and outside lots so I douse myself in sunscreen in the summer months and clog my pores right up.... I am a religious clay mask user I find it makes a big difference... I scrub first then mask right after usually twice a week.... I really like Cliniques 7 day it's very creamy and they also have a mint one I alternate with, I follow with the emergency mask. :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Same here, clay mask. Yonka has a no-beads scrub that is fantastic at clearing pores, but it doesn't smell very good. You can also try Avene's facescrub, very gentle but effective.

What you can try is wash your face first with an appropriate facial cleanser then steam open the pores either take a nice hot shower or the old fashion method of draping a towel over your head while your face is over a sink full of hot water. All the steam open up your pores then pat dry your skin so it's not wet and apply the clay mask. Allow the mask to completely dry then with a warm, wet wash cloth remove the clay mask. Follow up with a toner of your choice. On a daily basis always remember after a shower or bath to close your pores with cold water and follow up with a toner around the nose or chin (where you get blackheads the most). You can also try an egg white mask since that will tighten up the pores as well but it can be drying to the skin if used too often.

Blackheads and whiteheads are forms of acne. We may have thought of acne as limited to those red, bumpy pustules, but that is not so. All forms of acne are considered disorders of the pilosebaceous units of the skin, which are made up of the sebaceous glands, the hair follicle, and the hair strand itself. And like all acne, the problem with blackheads and whiteheads starts deep down the sebaceous glands, or oil glands. You can remove it through either herbal treatment or acne treatment.

thanks chasmith! it's hard to explain to people that acne comes in different forms, but is essentially acne.

i have the same problem, on my chin. . . and it seems they are not on the surface, but inside and not coming out. horrible situation.
