The difference between the types of strips is that Muslin is a woven fabric, and the other is a non-woven pressed fabric strip.
I have found that the muslin is good if you are using sugar based waxes, as the strips can be rinsed and re-used. However the non-woven fabric strips are a little more sturdy and better at preventing 'soak-through' of the wax (which means your hands don't get as sticky).
Parissa has a wide range of waxes and sugars for all different hair types. And the products are all natural. Here's an easy way to figure out which type of wax would be best suited for you: *edited by mod*
And I agree with SalJ, pull the strip back quickly to help reduce the "ouch-factor" (think of taking off a bandaid) and be sure to keep your hand parallel to your body, don't pull up and away from the skin.
Good luck.
