any tips ..

To help prevent/get rid of red bumps after a bikini wax or shave:

Mix a few drops of glycerine, tablespoon of water and an aspirin together.

Apply as a toner to area.

This is good for men that get those red bumps too, after shaving.

I think you can use any shaving cream or gel to shave with

I use hair conditioner instead of shaving gel which works great, its slicker, thinner than gel and doesn't clog up the razor like gel does... And no bumps... I have also tried a product called Bikini Zone which also works great to relieve irritation.

use the gel for men! it doesn't make a difference who it's "meant" for. all shaving gel is the same lol.

No it isn't Lucy.... Every one knows that men's is blue and women's is pink!!

and costs more! lol

Hmm, hair conditioner..I'm going to try that. Try using baby oil (or something similar) after you shave, it should help.

I've used conditioner before. I have also used oils and right now, I use castile soap in a foamer, it works the same. Foam is just soap and really no different between one foam to another. Blue for boys and pink for girls and white at the dollarstore

Here is a step by step that I do

STEP 1

Apply baby powder to the area that you're waxing it softens the skin and absorbs any moisture so the wax adheres to the hair hair and not your skin TRY: JOHNSON'S BABY POWDER $4 DRUGSTORES

STEP 2

Rub a precut wax strip between your hands to soften it then press it onto your bikini line pull your skin taut and rip the strip off quickly in the opposite direction your hair grows TRY: PARISSA QUICK & EASY WAX STRIPS FOT LEGS & BODY $12 DRUGSTORES

STEP 3

Soothe your skin with a healing oil like tea tree or azulene [a chamomile extract] dab it on with a cotton pad to prevent redness and ingrown hairs [PARISSA BRANDS SELLS IT]

TIP:

Gently exfoliate with a body scrub before you wax it removes dead skin cells and helps hair break through the surface so wax can grab it.

I'd say NO for shaving, unless you can handle the itchiness soon after..Just my 2 cents

Ive not been brave enough to get a bikini wax yet! Although shaving irritates my skin way too much, I prefer to use hair removal cream although it is very smelly

use "coochy cream" that is exactly what it is made for and it works great!! I use it all the time with no rashes or bumps

Here is some Essential Bikini Waxing Styles:

  • Regular Bikini Wax: This style removes the hair outside the panty line. You can choose it if you are going to have it on first time, or you are just looking for a cleanup.
  • Full Bikini Wax: This style takes the side of the bikini line deeper than the regular bikini wax, and may also include hair removal on top to create a more defined triangle area, or cutting the hair below the lower left. You can choose this style if you want to keep hair, but wish more definition than a cleanup.
  • French Bikini Wax: This style removes all the hair from the front (except a small band) and continues to right before the back. It does not take the hair from the back like in Brazilian waxing. You can choose this style if you want the area mostly beautiful smooth with most hair removed, but do not wish to take off any hair from your back.
  • Brazilian Bikini Wax: This style removes all hair from the bikini line from front to the back. Every so often a small strip or triangle is left at the front. You can choose this style if you wear a thong bikini, or wish to be completely hairless in front and back.

I own Coochy Cream and I STILL get a rash @___@. So many people tell me they've never got one while using it, but somehow, my skin is an exception...

How does one properly wax their back area o_O. I'd really like to know, but am also scared to know?
