I read on another board that BHAs are better in that they clean out the inside of the pore and AHAs do not. is this true?

I've been using AHA prducts to get rid of post-acne redness but I feel that it clogs pores (my nose looks extra dirty). Should I switch to BHA products?

any reccs?

What's the difference between BHA and AHA?

BHA is oil-soluble and can penetrate into the pore exfoliating accumulated skin cells that clog pores and can also exfoliate on the surface of skin as well. It is best for skin types prone to blackheads and blemishes. AHAs are water-soluble and exfoliate primarily on the surface of the skin. They are generally best for sun-damaged skin that is not prone to blemishes. AHA's also have moisturizing properties.

As for me, i use the BHA in the morning and the AHA at night. My skin has changed dramatically. It has never been so clear before.

Glad i can help korina. I've introduce my friends to BHA and AHA and they all swear by it now. I use paula's choice AHA and BHA and i'm loving it. You might want to check that out.

Well i use paula's choice AHA and BHA. You could check out her webiste and read into it. Also they sell over the coutner AHA and BHA as well. I haven't tried over the counter AHA and BHA. So like i said check out Paula's choice website adn decide for yourself.

I looked at the Paula's Choice website, cosmeticscop.com , and saw quite a few things that seem really good. Have you tried the 2% BHA gel?

paulas choice is sold only on her website. You should take advantage of it now since right now it is only 3 dollar shipping and handling on all the products.

I use the 2% AHA and th 8% BHA. In the beginning i ordered the lower percentage first till my skin get use to it and then upgrade to a higher percentage. Their return policiy is awesome if u are not satify with the proucts. I believe its either 60 days or 90 days. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to exfoliate their skin. I have oily/combination skin and have a lot of clogged pores so this really helps my skin out. You dont have to order the whole kit. You can continue to use ur cleanser and moistuizer and just buy the AHA and the BHA. Hope this can help you out.

thanks ! I'm thinking I will order the 2% BHA Liquid for my blackheads before the end of the night :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
