Hi, don't frequent this board much and it might sound silly, but ...how can you tell if a product actually has BHA or AHA, I have never seen it on a label?

It usually say it on the products. Most of the products im using they say it.

it should be listed high up on the ingredient list, either the 2nd or 3rd ingredient- the further down the list, the less that is in there and no results!

also, the product must have the proper ph level for the bha/aha's to work. The only one I know of that has high concentration/proper ph is Alpha Hydrox (glycolic acid %10). I use it and it works!

I kept looking for toners that contained salicylic acid, or even glycolic or lactic. Couldn't find any. Tonight I was in CVS DETERMINED to find the products everyone else here (except me) seem to know about and talk about like it's as common as bread - ha. Turns out that all the toners I had previously looked at in various stores were NOT for acne. I don't have acne problems, or blackheads or whiteheads, so why the heck would I have looked at those products? But then some little voice in the back of my head told me to pick up a toner made for acne-prone skin anyway ... and guess what? You got it. The label said plain and clear "2% salicylic acid." Whoda thunk? So now at least I have a BHA toner - finally! Now to find a cream/moisturizer with a decent % glycolic acid it in.
