I am trying to find my Holy Grail for sunscreen. What are you guys using?

I have been quite silly and did not pay any attention to SPFs in the past. I just noticed that my face has gotten a bit darker than the foundation/concealer I have bought earlier this year. Now, I am using brightening formulas from Shiseido and Dr. CiLabo to get my color lighter.

Neutrogena sheer stuff SPF does not work for me. It rubs off as if my skin is peeling and not attractive at all!

I need something that is light and works well with liquid and cream foundations from Cle de Peau and Chantecaille.

Thank you all for all your input!

Kim

I love the VIchy Capital Soliel SPF 20 Gel-Cream...

Its quick absorbing, and the texture is amazing!...

As an added bonus it has Mexoryl and Parsol so you get good protection:)

But if you are using Shiseido why not try the White Lucent protective emulsion?

Its an SPF 16, and it sounds like it would work with your regimine...

Also look at Clarins Bright Plus line; there are two oil free moistures with SPF

I read somewhere that SPF is better than the ones combined with moisturizers. They say that the SPF is unstable in those moisturizer formulations.

As with Shiseido, I am only using their Luminizing Night Essence to brighten my face as I noticed lately that my face got a bit darker. For some reason, I am more inclined to use the Cle de Peau Beaute line of Shiseido than the regular Shiseido line.

The associate at Chantecaille also suggested the Clarins line. Now I can look at the Vichy Soleil and Clarins.

Thank you so much for your time hun!

Honestly, I just rely on the low level of sunscreen in my foundation and powder... I'm pathetic! I have SPF 27, and just never seem to use it!

Haha! I think it's just too many stuff to put on one's face! I am not a big fan of SPF either but I have read some scary articles about the damaging effects of the sun and it's better to be safe than sorry later on.

Yesterday, I went to the Clarins counter at Macy's on 34th St. I still have a gift card which I got from Christmas last year that I have to use! They showed me Clarins SPF40 ($38) and a lotion/moisturizer with SPF 20 ($55). I asked for samples but to no avail (with high-traffic departmores such as Macy's, samples come and go in minutes).

I checked Dr. Ci Labo's website and saw Everbright SPF 30. Unfortunately, Takashimaya does not carry it :10: . The good news is that there is a Japanese store in Midtown that carries Dr. Ci Labo's line. I called the shop, confirmed that they have the Everybright product and in just minutes, I have it in my hands for $38 plus tax. The formulation is similar to Clarins SPF 40 - a milky formulation.

I used Ever Bright this morning over my moisturizer and I noticed that it rubbed off just a tiny bit and it dried very quickly. I swear, I didn't put too much at all, just two drops to cover my entire face (instruction is to put a pearl size amount and spread all over face). I didn't use liquid/cream foundation this morning, just Napolean Perdis Camera Finish Pressed Powder. But tomorrow, I will.

345 pm: I was about to put on some pressed powder on my face when I realized that my face was not oily at all - still looked matte. I have combo skin and my tzone needs some retouchin but surprisingly, it is different today. Not too oily!

I think Ever Bright SPF30 is workin worderfully. Could be my HG for sunscreen!
