For a while I've been wanting to try out MUAC's but very unsure at which one would work best. I'm trying to get rid of my uneven skintone, acne scars and possible acne. They have mixed reviews, so has anyone tried them or another brand and it worked?

I could be wrong but glycolic and TCA peels are not a sensitive skin's best friends, i tend to avoid them. I can get away with lemon juice and also Shiseido's Aqualabel whitening masks (japanese line you can buy online). Both work if you use them regularly over a good amount of time.

It's not a peel, but Mario Badescu's Glycolic Acid Toner is marketed for dry/sensitive skin. It only has 2% glycolic acid, versus other creams/peels that have 10%. That being said though, I have sensitive skin and I used Acne.org's AHA (a 10% glycolic acid lotion) and didn't have any problems. It burned a little (or a lot - if I had an open pimple), but other than that, it was fine.

Hmmm. . . My skin is very oily. I think they have different strengths for people with sensitive skin. Like 8% is the lowest? ON TCA peels. Not sure.

Please don´t considering doing an at-home TCA peel if you have sensitive skin!!!! If you feel like you need a TCA peel to improve your skintone, get it done professionally by someone who really knows what they are doing, otherwise you really don´t know what you´re getting yourself into. My skin isn´t sensitive at all, so I´m comfortable doing peels (glycolic & TCA, which I always get from MUAC) by myself.

For sensitive skin I´d go for salicylic acid instead of glycolic acid since salicylic has some anti-irritation action, plus it works better in preventing breakouts. I´d start with a gentle leave on product that doesn´t contain alcohol (like Neutrogena´s 3-in-1 moisturizing treatment with 2% salicylic acid) and then try a weak salicylic acid peel or an Alpha-Beta peel.

So basically, my advice is to start out with a gentle leave on chemical exfoliant to see how your skin handles it. Slowly build up your tolerance if you can, and then you can move on to actual chemical peels, but always start out with the lowest possible %.
