I'm planning on doing ombre on my hair relatively soon. In order to achieve the look I'm going for, I need to bleach it. I have dark/medium brown hair. It is medium thickness. I'm only bleaching the ends so I can put a turquoise blue in it. I'm hoping not to damage it too much, but my blue will be a semi permanent or demi. So I know those should be okay, but I know bleach is extremely damaging.

So what bleach is the best, especially when you are throwing a vibrant color on top of it?

I use loreal blue flash from Sally's. It comes in a big tub or you can get small packets. You're going to want a 20 or 30 volume developer, which you can also get at Sally's. I just use the generic brand. I've had teal/turquoise hair before, and I just wanted to warn you that it can fade to a pretty nasty green after a while, so you'll want to do a touch up once it starts to do that. However, if you go with a purple based blue it won't do that. Good luck!

Silk Lift by Goldwell! (i'd recommend silk lift strong to get to the right level) This lightener has silk protein in it, so it's conditioning to the hair & you can get their added silk drops to add even more of the conditioning agent in it!
