WASHINGTON - With the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) recent announcement that most cosmetics are banned from carry-on luggage, beauty-minded travelers must check their makeup bags, or be faced with the terror of throwing it out (noooo!). According to the TSA Web site, all creams, liquids, and gels must be checked with your bags: that means no liquid makeup (foundations, mascara, nail polish, lip gloss) hair styling gels, hairspray, moisturizing lotion, sunscreen, serums, or facial cleansers are allowed in your carry-on bag. But, it's still possible to bring beauty on board-you just have to be smart about the formulations. Below, we listed the travel-friendly alternatives to your basic beauty standbys. And remember, if your beauty routine takes a hit, then the terrorists win.

Thank goodness for alternatives!!

Don't buy the Avon nail polish stickers. They are expensive for only one application. Plus they lift at the edges after one day.
