I posted a thread a few weeks ago asking how to get beachy sort of waves and I got some very helpful answers but after giving it a go I'm convinced I must be using the wrong products on my hair.

When I went shopping last week I was looking at all the hair products with their confusing names and wondering was I just being stupid or would it be much easier if the companies put it simply on the bottle what it actually does. So anyway, I've been researching products I can get in shops in the UK on the internet and I saw an article about John Frieda Beach Blonde Ocean Waves which is apparently quite good and smells nice.

My question is does it really matter if it's marketed for blonde hair? 'Cos I haven't got blonde hair and I'm just wondering if it's going to make my dyed hair go a weird colour?

Or if anyone could recommend any other products they think are any better than that would be great!

edit: oh and I also forgot to mention that I'm on a budget so I can't afford anything expensive.

I think if it ever says for blondes its probably just has stuff to make blondes hair stand out more. But i'm pretty sure you can still use it.

YOu can use the John Freida stuff on dark hair. I used to use it all of the time. I love the stuff. It smells great. BTW, I have dark hair, but I used to dye it even darker and it didn't fade my color at all.

KMS Beach head and Nolita Grit are good too. They are kind of expensive though I think.....

The JF stuff is great though. I recommend that you try it!

most of those blonde hair products are ment for people dyed blonde, just check the ingreadients to make sure they are not going to strip your hair...

i would sugest that you not use the john fieda stuff it makes your hair super frizzy at least it did with mine, and it made my waves weaker and i have naturally wavy hair. i woudl sugest something like be curly from aveda

Thanks for the replies!

I went shopping at the weekend and couldn't find the John Frieda stuff I was going to buy so I ended up getting some Garnier Fructis Style Beach Look Spray and I've used it yesterday after I washed my hair and again this morning and I really like it!
