Bath and Body Works, Lush, Victoria's Secret and Philosophy aren't brands that I buy very often, only because I see no reason when I can find something similar at a lesser cost in brands like Calgon, Suave, Sarah Michaels etc.

I'd like to start a thread of Bath and Body lookalikes with your contribution, of course! What have you found to replace your uber expensive bath and body products?

I love Suave's blue Ocean Breeze Shower gel. It smeels clean and fresh. I haven't found anything to re-place Bath and Body Works Cool Citrus Basil Body Wash. That stuff just smells so unique.

If anybody knows of anything that does smell like it.....TIA.....LOL

.

Lush stuff is also hard to replace..like their Rehab Shampoo? I was going to say Rosemary Mint by Aveda until I realized that was $$$, too. I don't know what White Rain Shampoo smells like, but I know it recently got raves from

a top mag....

For Aveda's Rosemary Mint you can use....

....de-luxe (body creme, body wash, scrub, soap, mist, lotion - even shampoo & conditioner)

Available at drugstore.com. I love Aveda's Rosemary Mint!

Wal-Mart has some BBW rip-offs that are dead-on. I think the line is called Simply Basic. They have a Warm Vanilla Sugar-type, a Moonlit Path (although I think they call it "moonlight walk" or something), a Cotton Blossom one ("cotton bouquet") and a few others I haven't tried. Very cool!

Warm Vanilla Sugar is one of my faves from BBW. Fortunatley, I get a huge basket from a friend of mine every year for Christmas (typical guy.....he found something I like so he keeps getting me the same thing) that lasts me nearly all year.

I'll have to check those out....of course, I just bought some Warm Vanilla Sugar at bath and body, so I should probably wait, huh?

There's an Aveda knock-off at Sally Beauty Supply - it's called Aura. If you go to the website and type in "Aura" a bunch of products will come up. It looks like they don't have a whole lot of different products, but has the Rosemary Mint line. As I prefer to order stuff online, I found a website that sells it wholesale ... I really like the prices!

I'd really like to know if anyone has found a cheaper alternative to any of the Laura Mercier bath/body products, especially Creme Brulee.

I've never found those drug store, Wal-Mart items to be that much cheaper than B&BW if you buy B&BW when they are on promotion -- which is all the time if you buy multiples.

That's understandable. I just don't make it to the mall that often. In fact, I try to stray away from malls as much as possible. My thoughts are, why would I pay more if it's essentially the same thing?

my b/f realli likes the warm vanilla sugar so maybe i'll check out Walmart

.. thx for the thread Mel.. .very interesting.

.. .wish there was a substitute for sweat pea! ... it's my absolute fav color and scent!! i have the anti bacterial hand soap, lotion, creamy moisterizer ... everything ....LoL

I love warm vanilla sugar, but I adore Moonlit Path..it's my favorite. I rarely buy expensive bath products though. Calgon has some good stuff. They have this citrusy scent that smells really good. I've been using that. It's called Hawaiian Breeze. I love Olay's bodywash! I've been using it since Christmas. It really is time for a change. But yeah, drugstore brands have really been raising their standards as far as bath products goes..and I don't see the point in paying more either.

I'm a HUGE HUGE fan of the Simply Basic line from Walmart! I have almost every scent in the line, I love them! The scents are long lasting and the lotions feel wonderful and are pretty dead on to the B&BW scents! A must try if not must have!
