Can you use baking soda for your skin? I have read that some people do and that it is good to get rid of blackheads. Any tips?

i use boric acid to get rid of blackheads. you can find it at the drugstore near the first aid stuff. boil a teaspoon in a cup of water, dip cotton in while water is still very warm and hold on blackheads. they should come to surface after a few times. if not the first , depends on how deep they are.

Hi, if I would use the baking soda alone, then how do I use it? Do you have to add water or something?

if you are going to use baking soda, I would suggest not using it by itself, but definitely using it with a gentle cleanser that doesn't have any harsh stuff in it like salyclic acid, scrubby beads, etc. I like paula's choice skin balancing cleanser, and aquanil, but if you already have a plain cleanser that will work

. Just mix enough baking soda, so you have a good texture, and apply to face!!! Don't scrub hard though!!!! Maybe try this on one area first just in case, like your nose, etc.

wow, boric acid for blackheads? i need to try that! i use scrubs, peel and that joey pure pores...but they don't work ...

i have a cleanser by isomers that works pretty well, it has very fine crystals.

I have used pure baking soda on my face & it made my face sting! I think the baking soda 'cuts' into the skin. I now occasionally use it only on my nose as my nose has got lots of blackheads that r tough to remove. I had the thought that the 'cutting' feeling might remove tough blackheads but it didn't

. However, it might work for u so u might want to try it. But I agree that u should mix with with something else(a cleanser maybe) so its not so strong.

OK, thanks guys for the information. Good to know how to use it, otherwise I would have make a mistake by using it alone! I am gonna try it and see how it works! Thanks again.

boric acid is a nautral element , it is mined in the mojave desert in california. its is used as a antifungal, antiviral agent. it has many uses, from curing yeast infections, treating acne and even the cystic acne, too being a safe insecticide. it is white powder and is sold in bottles or jars , inexpensive and is found at most drug stores, do not ingest it, or use if pregnant, if you try it i would spot treat the break out area only , like baking soda it can dry your skin, so follow with a light cream.

i have also heard of people using a asprin mask , but i have never tried that one.

Wow, I didn't know of boric acid as being anything other than an insecticide. Interesting. I learn something new here all the time.
