I did some google searching, but the advice I saw was for women who have given birth. I'm not sure if it matters, but I was born with it.

Linea Negra can also be called the mask of pregnancy, as it occurs when a woman is pregnant.

It can be a:

dark line that runs up to the chest, from the groin area.

darkening of the aeriolas.

darkening of the external genitilia.

darkening of facial skin.

All these darkenings usually return back to the original skin tones.

I'm a bit confused that you say you were born with it. It's the mom's that develop it.

^ I don't know a lot about it. My understanding is that women develop it when they're pregnant, and sometimes their babies get it.

Also, most of the definitions I saw say it's a line down the belly (which it is for me as well).

That's interesting. I've only known woman to develop linea negra.

Personally, I think its a hormonal thing but maybe not.

you could easily just use a good concealer. They have ones formulated to cover tattoos like DermaBlend and such. I used concealer when I had my maternity pics done and I wanted to cover up that dark line.

^ Yeah I know I could use makeup, but I just want it gone altogether.

And yes Dragonfly, I think it is usually women who get it, which is why I'm trying to find what the best treatment is for someone who was born with it.

If you have some kind of hyperpigmentation, your doctor will most likely prescribe hydroquinone and/or Retin A.

Why not go to your doctor and make sure you have something harmless like linea negra and not something else more serious. And then the doctor can prescribe the right mediations.
