it started around 2 or 3 yrs. ago. for some reason no matter what kind of blade or shaving cream i use afterwards i start to ich all over my legs and break out. i used an electric razor and it didn't do that, but i did get ingrown hairs. i do moisturize. does this happen to anyone else or does anyone know why?

maybe it's a common ingredient in all shaving creams that is making you have an allergic reaction.

i don't know, i tried just using body wash and still. it never use to do that, drives me crazy. maybe my skin is more sensitive to the razor but doesn't bother me till later if that makes any sense.

I find that happens to me in the winter. My skin gets very dry in the winter.

I use extra shaving cream (not soap) while I shave and as soon as I towel dry off I put moisturizer/cream on my legs. That has taken care of the problem for me.

I use Neutrogena Light Sesame Body Lotion and I just love it.

Hope this helps!

I'm guessing you're sensitive to the moisturizer plus you aren't exfoliating enough. This used to happen to me too, and for me it was caused by the razor nicking minute bits of skin that clings to the hair follicle, which was further irritated by being exposed to fragrances and dyes in my lotions. I got around this by shaving after I've been in the shower for a while and after giving my skin a thorough scrub down with a scrubbie puff. The exfoliation helps to smooth down the cell build-up around my leg hairs and the extra time my legs are wet softens the hair shaft and allows an easier shave. Fragrance-free lotions are a plus, too. Cetaphil cream works great, too!

Your skin is too dry and you may be allergic to your shaving cream and to the lotion you are using. Try Avon Skin so Soft whipped body oil(goes on like oil, drys to a powder).. Germanlady, Avon representative

Hmmmm. I have very dry, skin and often times it would become irritated by the shaving creams, but when I switched to Schick Intuition I stopped noticing it.

It's for sensitive skin, fragrance free with Aloe, Cocoa Butter and Vitamin E, so it's very moisturizing. Even coarse hair is no task for this razor combo. It's also extremely convenient. It's even very gentle with the bikini area!!

An

That sounds like a great product too. Anything with aloe, especially, should be healing and moisturizing. I notice when the weather is cold my legs get that itching burning feeling.

I do get it worse in winter, usually when I have not moisturized enough before I shave.

I try to use a mositurizer without any perfumes. I have tried Skin so soft, but I didn't like the smell. :icon_roll

ummm, I dont know. I dont get that problem at all. I do get it, whenever I apply body lotion over them. Which I only did that 1 time in my life many years ago and never did it again. I got this horroble ugly rash all over. Never again. Lotion and cream has its downfalls. :icon_conf

Skin so soft has 2 new scents now--light and lush which is a citrus scent

and soft and sensual which is a light rose scent. I know the original scent--you either like it or hate it!

i have to agree with you on this one kerry. sounds like you may need to exfoliate before shaving. have you ever tried exfoliating gloves? also, kim has a great thread on dry skin brushing as well. hope you find something that works.
