I'm on a quest for my HG mineral makeup...

Here is the criteria for HG mineral makeup:

1) Controls oily (I have really Oily/Normal-Combo Skin)

2) Long staying power (about 8 Hours)

3) Great buildable coverage (sometimes I prefer a light coverage, other times, I prefer a heavier coverage)

4) Non-chalky, almost airbrushed finish

5) Reasonably priced (under $20 is preferred)

6) Won't cause breakouts (I am so prone to acne!)

I'm not sure if this mystical HG mineral makeup really exists or not. Maybe it's a myth, but that won't stop me from searching for it. Does anyone have any recommendations?

1) Controls oily (I have really Oily/Normal-Combo Skin) I do not have oily skin, but I use Fusion of Color they have an oil control primer that is suppose to be good.

2) Long staying power (about 8 Hours) Stays for me

3) Great buildable coverage (sometimes I prefer a light coverage, other times, I prefer a heavier coverage) Yes FOC is buildable, it is a light med finsih, I am older and it doesn't make my skin look dry.

4) Non-chalky, almost airbrushed finish Yep this is the way it works for me

5) Reasonably priced (under $20 is preferred) Well it is 15.00 for a 4.5 gm jar I have a few other I have tried and I keep reaching for FOC

6) Won't cause breakouts (I am so prone to acne!) I don't know I am fortunate and don't have this problem.

Ok you can tell I like this line LOL!!!!! I cannot use a foundation that has heavy coverage, as much as I like them they don;t work for me.

Try Mineral Boutique's Halt It formula. The sample sets are really reasonable and the foundations and blushes are natural looking and economically priced.

I wanted to edit this to state that MB isn't my HG but I'd buy from them and recommend them based on the criteria that you've stated.

well Jane Iredales pressed foundations do all you ask- they are great , just expensive, but if you are searching for all those things, maybe worth it for something that lasts and you can use every day of your life to feel good!

I would definitely recommend Alima's Satin Matte Foundation. It is definitely the best foundation I have used, and I have normal/combination skin. It sells for $18.95 but the jar lasts me around 6 months or so. It has buildable coverage which I love. I have a good bit of red rosacea-type discoloration on my face and it covers it like a dream, with no concealor even necessary, but yet it looks natural and is not heavy or chalky-looking. They have great customer service too and the foundation comes in a huge range of colors.

I've actually tried Alima's Satin Matte foundation plus their finishing powder and blush. To be honest, I'm not a big fan. I look really chalky with it. And it offers very little coverage for me. Then again, I haven't tried applying it wet or mixing it with a moisturizer to make a tinted moisturizer yet. In time, I'll get to that. So I won't make that my final opinion about Alima. Thanks for the recommendation though!

Lure beauty all the way, the only one I'm not so sure about is the buildable coverage, haven't really experimented with that with it, but it does fit the bill for all the rest of your requirements.
