I have noticed that I have some sun spots in my face, regardless of my daily dose of Clinique Superdefense ( spf 25 ).

I'm wondering if there is any other moisturizer with a higher spf. I want a simple moisturizer, not sunscreen.

Thanks a lot.

:kopfkratz: now that i think of it i've never seen a moisturiser with an spf higher than 15. i'm not sure you can find a moisturiser with a really high spf.

Well, Clinique has a 25 in Superdefense and Lancome has a 30 in their Bienfait fluid moisturizer ( at least in Europe ) but I can't find anything higher.

any higher than spf25 and you will be wearing sunscreen.. i know you want protection but i duno if a heavy dose of sunscreen is good for everyday use..

I dont think theres anything wrong with too much SPF o_0 I normally use my DDF photo matte after my moisturizer if I'm going to be in the sun (otherwise I rely on my MMU for sunscreen), so I cant help you there, sorry!

SPF 25 is a very high sun protection factor and you shouldn't need any more, it might be wearing of in the day so maybe try a more water-resistant one?

What are the active ingredients (sunscreen ingredients) in the Clinique superdefense SPF 25? As you may already know, the chemical sunscreens must be paired with a certain "other," and NOT paired with certain other sunscreens, otherwise it is rendered ineffective.

For instance, you want to see avobenzone with octocrylene (2% & 5% respectively, 3% & 10% is better yet). If it is paired with octinoxate, it breaks it down.

I just bought the Lancome one you mentioned. That has an SPF 30. I think much higher and it's sunscreen, not moisturizer.

I know 25 is a high spf, but I'm getting sun spots ... I'm not sure which ingredient has Superdefense...

the highest i've seen is LaRoche-Posay Anthelios spf 60 sunscreen.

i don't know if it can be used on the face.

Same as the Oil Free Faces Sunscreen SPF 30, only higher. I don't know if you have sensitive skin, but it might be what you're looking for.

Check Out Neiman Marcus Brands....its A Tad Bit Pricey But They Have Spf Creams Over 25..plenty!!!

y is it that u dont want to wear a sunscreen? not as moisturising???

well, la roche posay hydraphase has spf 30, and is very hydrating, suitable for acneic skin too

also, DDF has 2 types: matte/moisturising phot age protection spf 30: they are lightweight and hydrating

if you're still looking, there's juice organics light tint spf 30 moisturizer. it's available at ulta.

that's what i'm using and i love it! someone said the smell is ylang ylang. i found it pleasant yet not overwhelming.

If you read the information out there, for proper sunscreen use you're supposed to reapply every 2 hours because it does break down/become less effective as time passes. I've seen a new Aveeno positively ageless moisturizer that has SPF 30.

shiseido has a sun protection cream that's moisturizing and has spf 55! it's great stuff and doesn't dry you up. although it's not the most moisturizing lotion out there, it's decent and I don't think I've ever felt dry or itchy from it. I don't really need hard core lotion so. hth

Have you tried reapplying instead of going higher SPF? I'm not saying higher SPF is a bad thing but you've already found a product you like so why not try reapplying it? SPF 25 is pretty high so unless you're sunbathing you should be getting adequate protection.

Also why are you "against" trying a sunscreen? Most sunscreens are quite moisturizing. My collegue who is 35 with dry and very fair skin uses avene spf 50 as her moisturizer and seems to be quite happy with it. I bought a tube for hubby who is also fair and I've used it a few times when I've run out of moisturizer and it does a decent job of moisturizing.

HTH
