Thanks Since you're living in Hawaii you should have easy access to a tanning lotion called Maui Babe. It's great for outdoor tanning and smells good.
Take plenty of antioxidants like grape seed extract.

The only tip I can give is to not overdo it. A little color is good, but you don't want to burn.

Make sure you flip and lift your arms and rest them over your head for some time while on your back - you wanna get an even tan (also, don't have on deodorant, sometimes they make it so your underarm doesn't tan!!).

Always take a shower first - helps open your pores and takes off all the stuff from the night before or day you've had and lets the tan in more

I've always had great luck w/ Hawaiian Tropic tanning lotion w/ SPF 4... I'm also a wee bit dark naturally, so I've never worried about SPF (until lately). My best advice is to make sure you flip in as much of an even time interval as possible. When I lay on my stomach, I lay my arms above my head, and when laying on my back I lay my arms to my sides yet slightly away from the body so as not to have a "line" down my sides. Also, when I'm on my back, I try to slightly bend my knees... Not sure if I have a true purpose for this... Lastly, I also make sure I turn my head on opposite sides every so often to make sure the tan is even on my face... Did any of that make sense??? I hope so! Best of luck, and have fun at the wedding!

I'm not gonna fuss at you. I've spent one day a week laying at the beach or pool for the past 4 weeks and I'm loving it. I use Australian Gold tanning accelerator. It's awesome, but beware. It has zero sunscreen in it. When I'm at my friends pool and no one can see me, I always lay with my legs apart so I get sun on the inside of my legs. And it was mentioned above to put your arms over your head also so you get the inside of the arms tan. What else?........................Oh, I also use an after tan lotion that Australian Gold makes. It's supposed to help your tan last longer. I don't know if it really works, but it smells and feels really nice. Happy tanning. It's what I'll be doing tomorrow at the pool again.

I forgot about making sure your legs are slightly spread apart!
Kelly, I'm assuming you're using Kisses? You need to try either Designer Skin Undercover Moisturizer or Designer Skin Angel Daily Moisturizer (this one smells like Kiwi-Pear) or Swedish Beauty Endless Moisturizer! The SB is better, except it has encapsulated Vitamin C in it, which gets slightly annoying. I don't tan anymore, but these are both my HG body lotions for daily use!

Hi, i am a tanorexic so can;t give you much advice, except wear suncreen and don't over do it. Moisturise your skin to prevent peeling and make your tan last longer.Try to stay directly out of the sun when its at it's hottest.Especially if you want to prevent pre mature skin ageing/brown spots etc.

thanks for all the good advice girls! You girls think just because i live in hawaii that i should know all the great tanning tips? May i have you know that 1. Its usually in the 80's here 2. The highest recorded temp ever in Hawaii was 102 a LONG time ago 3. The weather is crazy here think mood swings! I've pretty much been doing everything you guys have listed here except i did not know about the deoderant thing! Thanks for that maybe i'll try it but im afraid of gettin stinky with all the sweating i do tanning lol. I use Hawaiin Tropic With no sunscreens i was using banana boat with spf 4 got some progress but mostly just a start without burning now im just slowly progressing with no burns well let me take that back i burnt my boobs trying to tan them for the first time after getting the hawaiian tropic i completely forgot there was no sunscreen in it but after days of aloe vera gel i recovered! I do have one tip for you girls though! Laying in the water on a float with make you tan better because the sun reflects off of water! You can actually get pretty burnt under the water on very hot days! Well thanks for sharing everyone hope to hear more from all of you!

You've been given some excellent advice here. I would just like to add that you should always wear sunscreen. You can apply sunscreen allow it to dry and then layer a tanning accelerator on top of that. A few other helpful hints are to exfoliate once a week, drink your water it's lotion for your insides, and to have fun. Even though you are tanning outside remember to protect your eyes from the sun. Don't worry about raccoon eyes you can use a bronzer to camouflage if necessary.

Little Lisa recommended Maui Babe and I swear so many people rave about this lotion. You really should give it a try. I haven't had the pleasure of using it yet, but everyone I know that has absolutely loves the results.

I moved from Indiana to Hawaii because my husband is in the army and he got stationed here! when i first got here it rained ALOT and by alot i mean we got over like 50 some inches of rain in like a month that was in march guess that doesnt usually happen here but it did and man was it wet! Alot of things got flooded it was a mess. It usually rains for maybe an hour at a time when its downpouring other than that it will be very hot and sunny and out of nowhere you have to roll up your windows real fast and as soon as you get them up its done!

So i here maui babe is good stuff huh? havent seen it guess i'll have to look around and keep my eye open! thanks for all the good advice !
