CANCER NEWS FROM JOHN HOPKINS HOSPITAL

A friend of mine who has received Chemotherapy and is now receiving Radiation at Princess Margaret Hospital for breast cancer phoned me today to tell me what they have now found about causes of breast cancer. And then tonight, I got the same information from another friend in Montreal . The person with the cancer has been told by the hospital to only use deodorant rather than an anti-perspirant. The reasons are outlined in the letter below. Anyway, I thought it was worth sharing. Ladies!! be aware! Gentlemen, pass this on to the ladies in your life! Sometime ago, I attended a Breast-Cancer-Awareness seminar. During the Q&A period, asked why the most common area for breast cancer was near the armpit. My question could not be answered at that time. The leading cause of breast cancer is the use of anti-perspirant. What? A concentration of toxins leads to cell mutations, a.k.a. cancer. Yes, ANTI-PERSPIRANT. Most of the products out there are an antiperspirant/deodorant combination, so go home and check. Deodorant is fine, anti-perspirant is not. Here's why: The human body has a few areas that it uses to purge toxins from the body; behind the knees, behind the ears, the groin area, and armpits. The toxins are purged in the form of perspiration. Anti-perspirant, as the name clearly indicates, prevents you from perspiring, thereby inhibiting the body from purging toxins from below the armpits. These toxins do not just magically disappear. Instead, the body deposits them in the lymph nodes below the arms since it cannot sweat them out. Nearly all breast cancer tumors occur in the upper outside quadrant of the breast area. This is precisely where the lymph nodes are located. Additionally, men are less likely (but not completely exempt) to develop breast cancer prompted by anti-perspirant usage because most of the anti-perspirant product is caught in their hair and is not directly applied to the skin. Women who apply anti-perspirant right after shaving increase the risk further because shaving causes almost imperceptible nicks in the skin, which give the chemicals entrance into the body from the armpit area.

PLEASE pass this along to anyone you care about. Breast cancer is becoming frighteningly common. This awareness may save lives. If you are skeptical about these findings, I urge you to do some research for yourself.

It's all a hoax. I'm not quite in the mood to explain right now, but if you look back on some Thais' posts i think she might talked about it and explained why it isn't real.

BWAHAHAHA...

This article is so silly. They're trying to use fear tactics as they do in the news and every one falls for it.

PS: basically EVERYTHING can be related to cancer, but when it comes down to the real facts , the thing that REALLY matters is YOUR genetic. Although there is proven carcinogens (like cigarrets), they won't have a strong effect as long as you don't have the genetic to have a cancer. There IS people who smoked their entire lifes and never had cancer (although it's quite rare). And there is people who never smoked who die from lung cancer (one example is Dana Reeve, Christopher Reeve's wife).

And there is cancers that aren't related to any carcinogen, like Wilms' cancer, which is a kidney cancer and it is the most common cancer on children.

PS2: i agree with Annia.

Nahhh, it's malarky. Even if it were true, I'd rather smell nice now and get cancer later instead of being disgusting and sweaty.

I generally dont believe anything I read on MySpace. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> But yes, its false, for one thing occluding the sweat glands wouldnt do anything to your lymph nodes.

While it's not linked to cancer, aluminum is toxic to the human body. However, aluminum is linked to Alzheimer's disease.

The World Health Organization said, "There is a suspected link between Alzheimer's disease and the toxicity of aluminum. Autopsies have found high concentrations of the mental in the brain of people who had suffered from the disease."

Dr. Daniel Perl, Director of Neuropathology at Mount Sinai Medical Center New York, "avoid aerosol antiperspirants. Aluminum in aerosol form may be more readily absorbed into the brain through nasal passages."

Natural Health Magazine, "Aluminum-containing antiperspirants are designed to be absorbed, and studies show that regular use of these products can raise the risk of Alzheimer's by as much as three-fold. Municipal water supplies treated with aluminum sulfate...at least 7 studies show that people drinking water high in alum are more likely to develop Alzheimer's."

Dr. Gary Price Todd, "The evidence is strong enough that the prudent person will eliminate all food and cosmetic sources of aluminum and will use aluminum cooking utensils only if they're coated."

So yeah, it doesn't cause cancer, but studies are finding that aluminum is linked to Alzheimer's. Also, there are PLENTY of antiperspirants and deodorants that don't contain aluminum.

Lol, everything that we come in contact with will give us cancer. That's what we as consumers are told. I really do not believe the hype.

I dont believe it either and the myth has been around a long time :sheep:

? I'm using antipersp. still that's all that I know. Those who I interact with daily will thank me too for that. LOL
