i'm really confused! Am i suppose to wear my sunscreen on top of my makeup? for example: if my sunscreen spf 30, but my foundation's only spf 10, if i put on sunscreen first then foundation, i only have the spf 10 workin for me right?

so is it pointless to even wear sunscreen first? can someone tell me am i wrong?

I always wear my SPF 30 sunscreen under my SPF 15 foundation. I think it doesn't matter if it's under the foundation, as long as it is on your skin, it will be working...Putting sunscreen on over foundation never woks for me, it makes the foundation run and fade.

Under your foundation.....putting it on top is just going to mess up your foundation. Just put it on, let it dry and then apply foundation.

Under your foundation definitely and you will have SPF 30 protection!!

My beautician recommended the sunscreen first, because you need to allow 15 min or so for it to absorb into the skin, then you can apply makeup...

And always apply to clean dry skin for maximum effectiveness!!

definitely under the foundation ! i use it as a primer, over my moisturizer (because a sunscreen never moisturises your skin of course) and before the foundation.

I recommend putting it under your foundation. When I tried to put it on top once, all my foundation came off. But that's just me.

On the bottom, you don't put moisturizer on after your foundation do you?

I don't use moisturizer.

I don't really need it that much.

But I don't know.

People keep on telling me to use it but my skin feels real oily afterwards.

:S

Cocacola - not everyone needs moisturizer. I have very oily skin and moisturizer just makes it worse. My dermatologist agrees that moisturizer isn't beneficial for me. As long as I wear sunscreen, he's happy with that.

Sunscreen under makeup..

Btw, though it's not directly related to the question, is it true that SPF doesn't stack? As in, if you were a foundation with SPF 10, and a sunscreen with SPF 30, you won't get SPF 40?

You won't get SPF 40. I'm not sure about this but I think you get the highest of the two.
