Hi. I sometimes use aloe vera with jojoba oil as a moisturizer, but i was wondering if aloe vera can clog the pores. So anyone has an idea? TIA

I don't think aloe vera by itself clog pores. I use it as a foundation primer and I've never had problems (and I have a somewhat sensitive skin).

Oh ok thanx. Do you only use it only for the priming part or also for moisturizer? Cuz it feels good when i apply it, but i was wondering about the moisturize part also!!!

As long as you're using pure Aloe gel, it won't clog your pores...I use it as a primer under foundation for girls with oily/combo or sensitive skin sometimes. It doesn't do very much on drier skins, at least not for me.

Thanx. I guess you`ve gave me the answer to my other question. Cuz i do have combo skin, but at the same time very dehydrated. So i think aloe isn`t enough to moisturise huh?

I don't think so, but if you're using jojoba oil with it that should work...You might also want to try grapeseed oil...I love it for combo skin and I use it on myself sometimes and I'm extremely dry.

I was using aloe vera through the summer alot but since it's colder and my skin needs more moisture, i've been using emu oil.

Thx Lisa. Is it so that you get drier skin when it`s colder? Also which emu oil do you use? Cuz i have 2 different ones. One i have is with this ingredients: emu oil, rosemarinus officinale and tocopherol, but it smells so bad to me that i had ordered an other one. And the other one`s ingredients are: emu oil, peg-8, beeswax, isopropyl palmitate, tocopherol acetate, silica and propylparaben. Now i like the second more, cuz it doesn`t smell so bad and it`s easier to apply. But i`m worried about the isopropyl, do you think that it`s bad for the skin? Cuz i thought that this is 1 of the ingr. that can clog the pores? TIA. :icon_smil

Suryani, thank you so much for the sweet compliment! :icon_redf I think you are beautiful!

Sharna, cold temperatures and low humidity cause small breaks on the skin resulting in scaly, dry and cracked skin so it's important to moisturize frequently and generously.

The emu oil I use is a pure, refined emu oil. It comes from an emu ranch near me and it has no odor. They only sell it locally. I found this link from another company that looks good...

Isopropyl palmitate is a waxy thickening agent that is used to bind other ingredients together, has an emollient feel on skin, and is used most frequently in moisturizers for dry skin. As is true for any emollient or thickening agent, it can potentially clog pores, depending on the amount used in the product.
