Thanks to the humidity, its made the air around here thick enough to cut with a knife and has pretty much covered me in rashes and bug bites. The rash on my kneck is HORRIBLE! It looks like one big giant hicky. I have bites all over my legs of lord knows what. Probably a combination of mosquitoes, spiders, and no-see-ums.

So my question is, is ther anything that can get rid if the itch that won't turn me chalky and pink? hydrocortisone is helping a little bit but I was wondering if there was anyting else that you guys have tried that works well. Also bug repellant. A really really good bug repellant. Thanks all.

You could try taking a benedryl pill - I broke out with rashes once during christmas time and my doctor told me to take those as an itch reliever. However they can tend to make you a little drowsy, so that is a downfall, but it's about the only other thing besides hydrocortisone cream and calamine lotion that I can think of.

I can't think of any really good repellents out there off the top of my head, but I'm sure the other ladies on this board might be able to

Best of luck, and sorry to hear that you are itchy =/

It might be pityriasis rosea -- I had this a few summers ago. I had an itchy rash on most of my torso, and my neck was terrible -- it was super itchy, super dry and peeling, and painful! (However, I don't think everyone gets the bad rash on the neck like that with pityriasis rosea.) I didn't know what it was until I went to the doctor about 2 weeks after it started -- she was able to find the "herald patch" on my back that no one had noticed before! Here is a good article on it:

BTW, this article says that it also looks similar to a rash caused by syphilis:

Not sure if that's actually what you have, but I thought I'd mention it. You might want to see your doctor if it continues!

If it lasts more than a week..then I would def see a health care provider...they can give better topical treatments..and/or a sterioid by mouth..

try caladryl clear lotion

I know there is a clear one out there that had an antihistamine in it too

I recommend Calamine Lotion and Off Skin-Tastic in Tropical Breeze (worked wonders for me when I was pregnant, and in the GA summer too!!!)!!!

first go to a dermatologist to find out what the problem is. he/she can then prescribe

u medicine to get rid of the itch.

We used to have a masque that worked great on this but they discontinued it this year. I am looking right now to see if I have a sample somewhere, I can send it to you for free to help. I will let you know if I can find it.

(A woman used it on a scorpian bite and it saved her life. It is a really good masque, I miss it.)

Calamine lotion works but u can also try Benedryl and hopefully that will solve the prob..if not just take a trip to the doctors if u notice little or no difference in ur situation after trying calamine or benedryl.
