I need some advice on what to do with my hair. I want to keep it long, but I want something different. I also want to know what color I should dye it. I will most likely do highlights and low lights. I've been studying on the different skin tones and what suits each tone better. But I think I'm somewhere in the middle because everything I've read says that if you have blue veins, u are a cool tone, if they are green, you are warm. But I have green, blue, and purple veins. So does that mean any color will suit me? I would love to go red or copper. I'm also thinking about Ashlee Simpsons haircut. What do you girls think?

Generally as a stylist our rule of thumb is that opposites compliment each other so if you have a warm skin tone go with a cool colour and visa versa. In photos it is hard to tell completely so ask your stylist in person. Red can be quite the commitment though so be prepared for the up keep whether it is copper like Ashlee's or a violet red (cool) like in the second picture. Ashlee Simpson is a good example for your hair type and styles that could work with your texture of hair. Personally I would say that a cool red rather then a copper red would be most flattering. I hope that this helps you out in your decision.

Here is a link to a blog post that will tell you how to maintain a bright and vibrant red and help it last as long as possible:

Thanks for the reply. If I did Ashlee Simpsons hair color, I think I would do it in low lights, and do blonde blonde for highlights, or something similar. I want to keep a little blonde, since its my natural hair color and it wont stand out too much. I like to be kind of in the middle of simple and WOE lol. I think I am defiantly going to do Ashlee's haircut. I need more volume. Its so flat, no matter what. So I think that cut will add a little more oopf. Also, I dont have just one stylist. I havent really found one that I really liked enough to keep seeing her. I live in a small town, there isnt much around and I usually dont have the money to do my hair until tax time. I will get my hair trimmed and whatnot in between.
