I am very excited this is the first time I post something, but I have been reading all the threads and I think it so cool how everyone is so helpful.Well my problem is I am 25 and I have been breaking out on my face. When I was a teenager I had pretty bad acne but when I was pregnant my face cleared up and was pretty clear. I have very sensitive skin I have tried everything from neutrogena to proactive and everthing makes my skin red and dry. I also have blackheads on my nose. Ihavent really changed anything like diet or anything the only thing that is different is the doctor put me on Iron cause I am severely anemic I dont know if that has anything to do with it.I would really appreciate any suggestions. thanks

Hi, Welcome to MuT! I'm Kerry from Texas. :icon_smil

It might be possible that your acne is hormone-related. Have you mentioned this to your OB/Gyn?

no, I havent but I was on Ortho-tricyclene for a while because my doctor didnt want me to have a period because of my anemia. When I was taking it it, I still broke out. I live in Texas also what part do you live in?

Thank-you Naturally, I will look into what you suggested. The apple cidar, do you apply it to you face or drink it.

Cool, you're in Texas! I live north of Dallas in Allen, which is in between Plano and McKinney. Where are you at?

One suggestion I have for hormonal acne is to start taking Essential Fatty Acid (EFA) supplements. The omega-3 fatty acids in flaxseed and fish oil help reduce inflammation and maintain healthy cell membranes. These EFAs have many other uses for the body, which includes lowering cholesterol, preventing heart disease, maintaining healthy brain function and in regards to blackheads, can help thin the sebum that clogs pores.

I've been taking EFAs since last year and these have cleared up all breakouts on my back. :icon_love It took me a few months of daily dosage before I had a significant improvement, but the results are worth it for me.

I live in Copperas Cove right by Fort Hood. The only place I break out is on my cheeks and sometimes on my forehead. Thanks for your suggestion i'll look into it.

I *think* my DH spent a few years there (Fort Hood)! This was many moons ago, in the 70's when he was a young'un. I should know, being the good wife and all, but sometimes his military history goes in one ear and....:icon_redf
