Hey girls,

For those of you that use ACV as a toner, where do you buy it? I havent used a toner in about a year now and i've always heard good things about this so i wanna pick it up!

Thanks

Also, i saw a thread where a few of you mentioned mixing it 50/50. Do you guys just pour some ACV into an empty bottle and top the rest up with water?

I just bought mine in the grocery store; it should be in the aisle with the salad dressings, near the regular white vinegar.

I have mixed it 50/50, and I use a bottle I bought from the travel-size aisle in drugstores (just plastic with a pop top cap)and guesstimate the parts, I just eyeball it really! :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

ETA: If you want to get organic, you might have to go to a health food store, my regular grocery stores didn't carry Braggs (a popular organic brand) or any other organic variety.

HTH :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I'm like Anne. At the grocery store. I usually mix it with warm water...but sometimes I put a little on a piece of gauze...you can also get that at Boots or the druggist....with Hot Water and hold it, without touching my skin, about a half a centimeter away from my skin and hold my face down over the sink..It immediately unclogs my pores w/o any skin contact...and there is no drying...then I pat my face dry with cold water to close them. I love ACV but only use it once a week to balance the P.H. But I don't use a lot of product during the week...

I was about to ask what the heck is ACV but I just figured it out lol. Now when you use this do you smell like vinegar? I use Green Tea as a toner at the moment.

Thanks Anne & Elisabeth.. I'll check out a local health food store for it during the week!

LOL @ Min "do you smell like a vinegar".. I HOPE NOT!

I use a tea bag & let it steap in 1c of hot water until it cools

LOL can you imagine walking around smelling like a salad lmao:icon_lol:

i got mine from holland and barretts, i only use it at night to avoid smelling of it in the day.

i buy mine at the local grocery store or at Wal-mart. i started with a 60/40 solution and increased the acv until i could use 100% acv which is what i use now. i just filled a squirt bottle to what i thought was about 60% and filled the rest with water, it burned a little at first, b/c i have sensitive skin, but eventually i got used to it. it works really well and i haven't had a breakout since i have been using it.

The results from using ACV sounds really tempting...I tried it for the 1st time today. I am going to continue for a week or so and see how it goes. It burned for some time on my skin though.

Man im such a dork.. i was near a health food store today at lunch and totally forgot to pick up ACV. Ugh!

Ok well i picked it up and used it tonight. I mixed it 50/50 (with water). Woah the smell is strong but i suppose i'll get used to it!

:icon_eek: Hahahaha! you want to talk about strong! ALL through my teens and twenties (in a land far far away,LOL!) and even after when I would get a break out, I used the mouthwash LISTERENE on my face! It actually smelled and felt like that Seabreeze stuff they sell and my skin was smooth and clear as glass! You just had to brace yourself a little if you used it full strength as I did, it has a really cold tingle at first. I started it one day when I looked at the ingredients and realized a toner I was using for my breakouts had almost the same in it! Besides it beat trying to swish it in my mouth! YUCK! But my skin looked great! I was in boarding school and all the girls would always use up your stuff so I got my skin care to the bare bones and with no boys around(except going to parties on weekends) I didn't wear makeup to class. So I washed with natural oatmeal, milk and honey bar, listerene toner, and an oil free moisturizer and eye cream from the health food store. I also used a mens soft shaving brush to wash my face (with the cleansing bar) and used a sunscreen during the day. Back then I just put Vaseline on my lips and lashes and that was it. Boy were those the days! hehe! But I still know people who SWEAR by Listerene as a toner! Some do dilute it with some water. What ever works right? It DOES work great on break outs. Anyway, I am never surprised what we will go through, smells and all! in our quest! When I think of all the things my friends and I have done and used I have to laugh! Especially at the comment of going around smelling like a salad,LOL! But you are right, it is an aquired smell I believe:icon_lol: ,it is pretty strong! Good luck! :icon_love Chermarie
