Mod notice: Just a heads up that this is an old thread that was brought back to life.  Some of the information in this thread may still be helpful, but keep in mind that many of the posts and poster opinions may be outdated!  Sorry folks, it looks like this was a dead thread that was bumped a few times by a spammer.

Have you spoken with Dermatologist?

If there is a product out there that can actually help, they would know about it.

I have cystic acne scars from the time I was 10 and the only think that helps was Dermabrasion - a Dermatologist had to refer me to the Plastic Surgeon, that did the procedure.

There may be less invasive procedures that may be just as effective such as injections or lazers - but only go to a qualified doctor for any of these procedures.

In the in term, there are good camouflage techniques that a good make up artist can show you.

You really need to consult with a derm or PS.

I've tried everything out there for this and excision/dermabrasion (not micro-dermabrasion) were the only things that help.

You could also consider fillers.

I thought the article was pretty god but I did want to comment on one thing - when I had dermabrasion done, I only need to do it once. My skin now looks really good as compared to the ice pick scars and poke marks I had before.

However, I have heard that some people need to have the procedure repeated.

Bottom line, it is how well your scars heal and how happy you are with the results.

Apply homemade mask (olive oil + honey) and use acne cleansing remedies on a daily basis.

honestly, home remedies, over the counter products really wont help. maybe like 5% ?

you really should go to a dermatologist or plastic surgeon.

i know couple girls who have or.. had this problem. wasted lots of money on products, and in the end eventually went to a dermatologist. one of them went to a plastic surgeon though. they both laser procedures. over here in korea, they cost like $1000~$1500 each time. and you have to go several times -_- /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> hopefully in the states itll be cheaper?

good luck!

Laser therapy is a form treatment of acne which is the classic surgery as a way to eliminate acne and scars. This treatment has been shown to effectively destroy acne slowly, but without damaging the skin surface in any way. This procedure is painless and the only known side effect is a temporary dryness of the skin after.

You might want to try applying a 40% lactic acid peel. I get mine from makeupartistschoice.com Make sure you research lactic acid peels before using it.

there are some Laser treatments available for removal scars or some time microdermabrasion ...Give it try...i have heard a lot about theese services....Good luck

I am definitely interested in the laser treatments, Do you know how much it is?? and how many sessions i would have to get in order to completely get rid of scars?

I think these are questions you should directly ask the doc, i can only guess the size and depth would have an influence on the price and procedure.
