I did something really bad last week and now I feel so stupid. I had a deep pimple on my right cheek that had been steadily growing bigger day by day for about a week. It still hadn't come completely to the surface, but I was so sick of it that I popped it. I thought if that if I put a warm compress on it, the pimple would be easier to pop. The result was a big bruise-like mark on top of the area and the pimple didn't even pop really. It just sortof got bigger, redder, and bloody. Now a couple days later, the pimple is still there, but the skin on top is dark and scar-like. The little scab fell off, but the skin underneath has a darker pigmentation than the rest of my skin. What should I do?? I feel so incredibly stupid and I am so mad at myself for doing that.

oh, sorry that happend to you! i know how tempting it is to pop them, i just on a spot treatment and try not to think about it..well, since it is just one spot, you could try lightening creams..then again i don't know how that would work on your medium skin...there is microdermabrasion like epidermx and chemical peels. since you have sensitive skin, try lactic. i'm sure other people have better advice for you...

sorri that happened. It used to happen to me all the time, u'd think i learned after the first one. are u talking about those huge pimples that hurt like $%!@ when u pop it. I had one in the middles of my eyebrows and it was buggin me , so i popped it .. .left a huge scar days later .... and i washed my skin realli well, kept it clean ... and i had to use a ton of concealer to cover it up .... which is terrible .. cuz i was so scared the concealer would get into the scar and make it worse ... anyways .......

my stupid scar lasted forever .... !! so my advice to u is ... keep it clean, maybe apply mederma and if u are not going anywhere , after apply mederma or neosporin, put a lil round bandage on it to keep dirt out and help it heal faster.

best of luck to u

Use some benzoyle-peroxide. CVS has a store-brand that is very good; a small bottle is fairly cheap. Use a q-tip to apply it and let it sit for at least 20 minutes. Keep you hands away from your face in the meantime...don't even rest your cheek on your hand! Now that it's summer our pores produce alot more oil with perspiration. Neutrogena makes a facial scrub for blackheads and it has either benzoyl p or glycolic acid in it. Even tho I'm 52 years old (Ihad severe acne in my 20's) in this hot weather my skin tries to act-out. I use this scrub about 1-2 times a week, depending on my skin's mood!
