hey girls, well right now since its gettin cold out my skin is becoming so shitty..which means its getting very dry but i still have acne prone skin so i get the occasional break-outs plus my skin is all dry n flaky...

1- im using MAC concealer ( a little under my eyes, and the area under n around the nostrils cause my skins a lil darker there) and it gives great coverage but its breaking me out not under my eyes but right under my nostrils which is my least favorite place to get pimples..got a pimple on each side..ick...=( im so saddddd because i read on here that it does break alot of people out but i was hoping it wouldn't b me...So i have to find a good concealer that doesn't break me out for under my nostrils n for pimples..does anyone have the same skin type as me ( combination- dry now in the winter- and acne prone) and know of a good heavy coverage concealer???

2- also does anyone know of a good moisturizer for acne- prone skin? My mom has cetaphil and i used that today it seems pretty good.

3- And is there any good spot treatments that wont make my skin flake like crazy..i have BP 7or 8% but it doesnt seem to b working too great anymore...i was thinking differin gel or something???

Thanks girls =) help please hehe

i dunno about makeup but for moisturizer i use sheer transformation by ole henrikson (chock full of antioxidants and AHAs but sooo gentle) and on top because my skin gets oily i use CO Bigelow Extra light face lotion with SPF15 (keeps my face matte)

i really like kiehls sodium pca moisturizer

and as for spot treatments either tea tree oil, neutrogena on the spot, clearasil ultra, or some queen helene mint julep mask work for me

I'm sure if you do a search, there's TONS of info on here that can help! My only spot treatment is MK Blemish Control Toner.

cetaphil lotion is good for acne prone skin....i have acne prone skin and i have tried many lotions....cetaphil was the only one that wasnt irritating...and it kept my skin from drying...and didnt cause breakouts...

Hi, I also have acne prone skin but can suffer from dryness/flakiness. The best concealer I've found (and I've tried loads) is Estee lauder's double wear concealer. It lasts ages, gives very good coverage, but doesn't cake or clump around spots. You would need to use a different under eye concealer though as its a bit too heavy for the eye area.

For a moisturiser, I would recommend either Estee Lauder's Clear Difference Advanced Oil Control Hydrator or Dermalogica's Active Moist.

Hope this is helpful!

Claire

As far as the moisturizer, I would recommend MAC's studio fix moisturizer. I can't remember if thats the exact name but somthing like that. I have combination skin and constatly break out but this is the only thing that has worked for me.

You might want to try Shiseido D program for pimple spot treatment. It has AHA ingredients as well so it also helps heal the pimple while covering it.

concealer wise i really like: jane iredale disappear

exuviance coverblend

il-makiage tv touch concealer

laura mercier secret camoflauge

i've also heard alot of people rave about estee lauder's concealer for full coverage...

I have a lot of acne info in my notepad, just click the link in my signature!

For the Mostroizer I use Cepthphil and its work fine!

For the spot treatment I wouldnt get anything to strong(Retin A,Differin, etc.)because those all cause you skin to be dry even more!

I finally have clear skin due to epidermxII and camellia oil (epiderm brand) but I have dark circles under my eyes and some skin discoloration (natural pigment) around my mouth. The only concealer I've found that doesn't make me break out is Burt's Bees concealer in medium. I'm really surprised I didn't break out from it because it feels a bit tacky almost like a salve but has a lot of pigment to it so it covers well. I guess the good ingredients in it is what makes the difference.

but then i just have to remember that it gets better from here. when you ask for the differin, see if your derm will give you a spot treatment like Duac...it's supposed to help existing pimples. I use differin at night and duac in the morning. good luck!
