personally ... i can't even feel it anymore ...(well .. i can feel the hair being pulling out ... but it doesn't hurt) . That's onli cuz i go a salon to have them do it and touch up @ home ... everytime the hair grows back it's thinner and softer (unlike shaving where when the hair grows back, it's thicker and denser ...)Waxing lasts longer too.

of course ... i never wax the delicate area ... lil triangle .. i think u understand ... i just shave that area

its always going to be painful, it all depends on how high your tolerance to pain is

 
i've never had a brazilian either, but, from what i hear you get used to it and it doesn't hurt as bad. i found that true at least for plucking and brow waxings.

 
I have been in a salon where the offer that but never actually got one. Do people do it for wearing bikinis/personal hygene reasons/their mate likes it better that way..or what?

 
Excuse my question, is a 'brizilian' the whole enchalada or just the bikini area or just that area in general? Does anyone know what the average price is to have it done? I mean for me, I'd like to just do the bikina area and maybe a TAD bit more, but not the WHOLE thing....IMO I don't like the feeling of the WHOLE area done. And I'm sick of shaving....ARGGGG.

Yeah, it's pretty much all of the above Quina, you don't get hairs sticking out of your bikini, it's apparently alot less messy around that time of the month and yeah, men seem to like it.
 
o .. i know men like it.

my bf is such a baby .... he likes it smooth .. otherwise it bugs him. and i guess it is a lil more painful when the hair rubs up against him ....and they are all stubby and hard ... but ... um ... ahem!! sorri ...I realize this is not the sex forum

I i mean even i like how smooth it is .. i detest how coarse and stubby the hairs are when u shave 'em

i agree the only part that sucks is when its starts to come out and personally i dont have time to keep it yp, i barely have time to shave my legs!! i have never gotten it done professionally done either.

I can't remember the last time i shaved my legs .... ppl always ask me ... do u shave your arms ..legs ... nope ... i just don't get hair on them. One of the greatest thing about my family .. it's genetic ... my brother doesn't have hair on arms or legs, neither does my b/f. most of my guy friends don't either .... and i have never met an asian man w/chest hair .... i feel so lucki ...
I hate shaving .. sometimes i do it cuz it's quicker ... i hate standing there waiting for the wax to melt ... then going thru the whole waxing process .. .but ....it sooo worth it. Especially after i spent all that money about $40 (not much .. but still money) waxing .. i might as well put in the time for lil touch-ups.

Well, here in Brazil, a regular wax - what you call the brazilian, i think - is just on bikini area, but since brazilian bikinis are TINY it gets a lot of hair (it leaves generally only an inch strip on the center of the area). The bare-it-all thing i don't think it's a brazilian thing, just a bare-it-all

I have to say I have tried home kits, Sally, Nair, Surgi and they are just not the same as getting it done in the salon...for me at least. I think I have a problem with inflicting pain on myself, lol! I never get all of the hair and it get's messy.

I'm perfectly fine letting the woman at the spa do it and then I just deal with the ingrowns, uugghhh

Funny to see this here - especially since I was considering getting one today and lost my nerve. A bikini wax is basically just a wax on the sides - leaving a strip in the middle. A Brazilian leaves a tiny little amount of hair - I mean TINY - and it also waxes the back area too - something that sounds like a great idea to me. I think if you get regular bikini waxes - a Brazilian isn't that big of a deal - just more waxing. Since I plan to go on a cruise in two months - I'm definitely going brazilian at my next appt.

A bare-all is something different. You CAN get it all off but as far as I know- salons in NYC usually leave a tiny amount of hair on top - the big difference is the back- which is what they mean by a brazilian.<---.

 
so do you have less ingrown hairs that way?

i shave and it's ALWAYS bad. but i do it because my guy realllllllly likes it.

 
I went with a friend of mine once to get her brazilian wax done. Ofc, I didn't actually go IN when she got it done, lol but i waited outside the sitting area. She gets it done every other month or so, and it costs about $75. I'm sure different areas charge diff prices and since this was in manhattan, NYC things are MORE expensive here.

She told me the 1st time hurts but after awhile u just get used to it. I would like to try it out sometime just to experience it. If I have 5 tat's atm, I'm sure I can handle a brazilian wax. The only thing is it being a bit awkward having to open wide and put your legs in a stirrup like you're having a baby or going thru a checkup at the gyno. lol
